As someone who always believed the old โ€˜you need to use a dslr if your professionalโ€™ I never really thought of getting a mirrorless camera but I would never look back now! Not only is the camera half the weight, easier to carry and hold but it is also fast, stunning and captures colours perfect! It really does capture exactly what you are looking at! The EVF is perfect and the control over every single button and function is awesome! The buttons are placed perfectly for easy use and the shutter is damn fast! For such a great price this has fast become my favourite camera ousting my canon and nikon cameras! You do not need a mirror or a huge heavy camera as a professional myself it is the person behind the camera as well as a good spec camera which this sure is!

We went for a very extended trip about two years ago and bought a few cameras for it – one Nikon DSLR, one Leica and this one. This one was meant to be the back-up one that we’d take to places where we needed something a little lighter than the DSLR but still wanted a zoom (the Leica is fixed).

We pretty soon worked out that this camera, aside from a few very specific conditions, was by far our favourite one and became our go-to camera.
    – The focusing is mind-blowingly fast
    – It’s more robust than the other ones (the Leica broke, the Nikon didn’t cope with humidity that well)
    – The image is as sharp as our full-frame DSLR
    – It’s the perfect size. Bigger than a phone so you have better sharpness and better grip, but small enough you never hesitate to take it with you (DSLR users will know what I mean…). And having your camera with you is the key to making great photos…

    Yes there are some drawbacks.
    – The standard lens is great, but the zoom one (55-210) is a little weak (the lack of…

After hours of research I picked this camera, I played around with the settings as I want to learn to do things on manual, it is stunning.
It is easy to use, great photos and also the automatic setting is amazing.
HOWEVER, I chose this camera based on the WiFi mode which should allow photos to be downloaded/viewed on your phone through an app. The Sony App doesnโ€™t work, it hasnโ€™t been updated and looking at reviews it isn’t working for anyone. Unless you are happy to put the memory card into a laptop to see your photos, donโ€™t bother.

Itโ€™s very annoying as Im so happy with the camera and want to keep it but without the WiFi straight into my phone option, itโ€™s not going to work for me. – I donโ€™t have a laptop!

This is a great little camera it’s smaller and lighter than my trusted Canon S.L.R and the photos are just as good. What sold this camera to me was the price and having a viewfinder this is a must on bright sunny days. There are two minor issues the battery won’t last as long as a S.L.R camera and the SD memory card is difficult to remove. I recommend a small pair of tweezers for this job. Lastly I’ll be taking this Sony camera out with me a lot more than my bulky but very good S.L.R camera.

Iโ€™ve been a keen amateur photographer for many years, toying with videography for a couple of years I decided to update my camera. I started with an Olympus OM10 film slr waaaaaay back in time. My first dslr was a Canon EOS300d, which served me well for photography…a couple of prime lenses and all was good…..the years flowed by and not being a brand junkie I invested in a Nikon D5200 which again served me well for photography, it also piqued my interest in moving pictures. The picture quality was not so great for movies so I did some research, most DSLRs with great low light capabilities are out of my price range so I looked at what was available. This camera came up time and time again, so I invested into Sony, the kit lens is actually not bad! I bought the 16mm prime which is in a different league (they always are compared to the kit lens) and I have honestly been blown away by the results! With the Nikon the quality was always very noisy, this is clean even at higher ISO.
    The…

I picked up this camera during the Amazon Prime sales – I’m so happy I did! Paired with my Sigma 30mm lens, the Sony A6000 works brilliantly for me. Since I only really use the camera for pets, holiday pictures and the occasional headshot, I tend to leave the camera in auto mode, however I do love that you can work everything manually if you’d like to. Autofocus works very well (the occasional mishap but that’s very rare – and often the fault of my shooting!) I haven’t figured out the NFC function yet, but using wi-fi to transfer pictures to my phone has been really easy, so they can be popped straight on to my social media. Personally I’d say battery life isn’t brilliant, however this is my first digital camera after switching from 35mm film, so I don’t really have anything to compare it to – I just ordered some spare batteries and a charger, and they do the job just fine. My next step is to buy a smaller lens and use the camera as a lightweight companion, exactly what it’s…
