Sony are insane, they make dozens of different small cameras, some with Carl Zeiss lenses, some with Sony lenses, lots of different pixel dimensions and different combinations of features, but, as far as I know, this was the only one they ever made that had a Zeiss lens AND allowed full manual control of aperture and exposure time, and they stopped making it a few years ago! It was only on the market for about three years. I got through three that I bought brand new and had to buy my forth second hand on Amazon!

BOUGHT THIS CAMBERA FOR MY HUSBAND WHO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT DIGITAL CAMERAS HE THINKS ITS BRILLIANT. GOOD LOOKING LIKE HIM! GOOD COMPACT CAMERA. GOOD LCD SCREEN. GOOD PICTURES. WORTH CONSIDERING. GLAD I BOUGHT IT.

Great camera and bulletproof. Gets the greatest photos at low light areas. Get more batteries though.

This camera takes great pictures outdoors but I am disappointed with pictures taken indoors of something which is moving. The instruction book & cd are useless – we have changed the settings several times but the people in pictures are still blurred (and no its not camera shake) it looks as though the camera has focused on the background which isn’t moving.

This bought for my wives birth day and At the time of purchase this was very expensive, why? I don’t know maybe for the name.
Build quality is good, battery life is good, included accessories also good then we get to the pictures.
For such a high res camera you would expect great pics, well you do get great pics if it’s a nice sunny day outside! So if it’s sunny but your inside it’s no good, if it’s dark outside its no good and if it’s dark inside it’s even worse!
The flash drowns the colour out and does nothing for the photo and trying to change the setting manually away from the auto setting makes it worse and I’m a photographer, I and my wife grew increasingly frustrated with this camera I’m just glad I had my trusty DSLR with me when we needed it!

I am so pleased I bought this terrific camera – with so many different aspects of creating a photo – with easy instructions to do so. On my trip to Greece I was able to take some great photos with my new camera – the clarify brilliant, the speed, the beauty ….. what can I say except that I bought this camera with high expectations because of the reviews and they were absolutely right!

…That’ll be me then!
The finish on this camera is superb and the feel of it brings me pleasure every time I use it. The ‘titanium’ coating looks pretty tough and will take a few knocks. A good compact camera is an ideal addition to your collection. So much more convenient than carrying around a big bag full of lenses everywhere. The quality does suffer very slightly, but not so most people would notice. I haven’t used all the features and settings yet and the only criticism I have is that the menus aren’t as intuitive as an old canon compact I had (since died). Nice gadget.
