I have 2 Nikon DSLR’s, a D3300 and a D5200 with 5 assorted lenses. But you cant carry that lot with you every day. My new SONY DSC-HX60V can cope with anything on any day, in any conditions and it fits nicely in my pack. a fantastic camera for the price. Its a keeper, R.S.Stiubhart

Beyond the 30x optical zoom, the 60x clear image zoom gives a wonderfully sharp picture, far better than expected and far better than any previous compact camera I have owned.

Brought for my wife as I’m a Canon DHSL camera person. Looked like the best value for the money to fit in her pocket with no lens to add on to the front and for taking those quick people shots that I don’t do enough of. Lovely picture, bits and pieces to play about with and explain how each effect the picture and the match the environment you are taking the picture in. Nice starting point to understanding now different elements effect the picture but also great for a point and press.

I’m off on my travels shortly but it’s the sort of trip where carrying a far more bulky DSLR with a couple of lenses and other associated kit could be an inconvenience. After a fairly extensive search for a lightweight substitute the HX60 seemed to fit the bill. My criteria was primarily a large sensor, a good focal range, simplicity of use and a sensible price. Initial test shots have been satisfactory and match other reviews I’ve read. There are, arguably, better products on the market but this ticked all my boxes and was just about within budget considering it is not intended as my main camera.

I got this camera because I can put it in my pocket no mater where we are going and it has the panoramic sweep mode. The best bit about this mode that I had not realised it you can change the direction of the sweep by 90 degrees. A bit of a bounce.
Zoom is very good with excellent reach not sure what the focal length works out to on full zoom but it could be over 600mm.
Over all well pleased with the camera and very glad I made to decision to get it.

Being fed up with carting my cumbersome Canon 2000D, whilst birdwatching, I settled for this Sony to get zoom snaps of interesting subjects when seen. It has been proved to be a very handy accessory and has even assisted in bird identification by taking snaps of distant birds not easily recognised by my ancient eyes. I can crop and enlarge photo after returning home which gives me a clear picture of the markings.
My only gripe is that it does not have a viewfinder eyepiece making images on the screen almost invisible in bright sunlight.
A model of simplicity which should not confuse any inexperienced photographer, giving excellent pictures you will be proud to share.

I bought this camera to replace.my Samsung, which was very slow to take shots. This camera is good for that but unfortunately that’s where the good points end. I take anywhere up to 1,000 pictures a day as a basic point and shoot (one handed) when I am carrying out condition surveys but the positioning of the menu buttons means they are forever being accidentally pressed and changing the quality of the image. I got home today to find that a load had been taken in black and white with the exception of grass and number plates, which came out normally as green and yellow. This means I have to keep turning the camera off and on again to reset everything to default, which in turn drains the battery; even though I have bought long life replacements, they still don’t last the day. This camera would be perfect if only I could lock all of the menu buttons to avoid them being accidentally pressed.

I bought this as a light, easy to use, and high quality camera for my travels.
With the plug in adapter, you don’t have to worry about remembering batteries.
It has a nice grip to it which makes it feel secure in your hands whilst taking photos.
The zoom is INCREDIBLE and maintains a high quality. The video image quality is utterly beautiful as well and stablises rocky movement (I filmed the scenery from a moving car while in Iceland and it picked up the landscape wonderfully)
The pre-set settings means it’s a brilliant camera if you want to take beautiful photos without needing to know what settings are needed to do so.
