Only had this a few days, but so far I am impressed. I wanted a small camera that I could carry at all times, with a descent optical zoom and not pay to much for. Picture quality is great for this size of camera and it is very easy to use. Don’t expect the quality to be on a par with a DSLR. But if like me you can not haul your DSLR equipment everywhere you go, it’s a great stop gap. Has some great settings on it to get some cool effects and the video quality is brilliant. I transfer pictures straight to my IPad using the Sony Playmobile app. Which means I can put pictures straight onto FB or send pictures to friends and family straight away. I have not had a chance to test all of the camera functions, but the ones I had needed have worked well. Might be an idea to purchase a spare battery/charger, as always handy when out and about.

Hands down probably the best point and shoot camera in its price range. Takes stunning pictures as well as videos which you just cant fault. If you want a small, easy to use camera which adjusts all the settings for you, THIS IS THE ONE!
Pros;
Very good sensor so the picture quality is just out of this world. Very fast focusing.
Automatically adjusts setting so you always get the best results.
Very good at low light if you don’t want to use the flash. Does some amazing wizardry and results are fantastic!
Video is very smooth and with built in optical stability, looks great! Shoots Full HD at 60fps.
20x zoom is terrific and stable!
Does 360 panorama which is really easy to shoot.
Has both Wi-Fi and NFC so you can wirelessly stream your pics to your PC, Phone, Tablet or TV.
Oh did i mention that the battery life is out of this world! 470 pictures on one charge! Other similarly prices cameras cant even get 300.
Cons;
Although build qual is excellent, aluminium body etc, the shutter button feels…

I been using Cybershoot cameras for 8 years from dsc w55 to wx220 and wanted to upgrade to wx500. I got this camera for 3 reasons,
1. 30x zoom (wx220 was 10x)
2. Zeiss lens is much better
3. 180 flip screen for seflies and maybe some video vlogging.
The battery is very decent and can manage to hundreds of shots at a full charge.
Taking the photos at full 18mp 4:3 shows some impressive detail, low light settings honestly have not tested it out let.
Superior Auto mode is want I use to get the best possible image quality and helps reduce bur.
NFC is another useful feature for transferring images on your phone or tablet by using the play memory app if not WiFi for backup.
Highly recommended for people who travel, go on holidays or party’s

I am not an expert so cannot comment on the quality of the camera but it seemed to be a good quality camera for the price. However, we do have a large camera to use for when we want to take really good quality pictures anyway.
The main motivation behind getting this camera was to have a compact camera to carry in our bag on family outings and to be able to easily transfer the pictures to our phones/iPads for editing and sharing.
Unfortunately this camera failed miserably on the later functionality: despite spending 2 hours trying to link the camera to the phone (and I am relatively techy savvy), I was not able to transfer a single picture. I research Sony’s support site including all the troubleshooting suggestions without success. Their support site gives you no number, email or chatting facility for contact.
Using the functionality that the advertise in the camera should not be this hard. For this reason I am retiring the camera.

Not as good as my Canon but does the job and doesn’t have so many toys as the previous one however takes pictures and the results are good. No complaints for the price and as used for work doesn’t have to be the worlds best.
Literally point and shoot and that’s all work needs.
Update March 2019
This camera has failed completely. It has taken approx. 1000 pictures only in 18 months so not overused. The lens shutter does not open, the lens does not come out or retract and all I get for a message is “Turn power on and off again”. Pretty useless. Am reverting back to Canon – I know they last the course and will never buy ANYTHING Sony again.

– Good Video Quality
– Great Audio Quality
– Compact
I picked this up as a vlogging camera, and the things listed above, as well as the flip screen make it the perfect camera for the job!

Needed a camera for my social media (YT, Instagram) and this is the perfect choice. Full HD video with 4K photos. And a flip up screen for vlogging which is a bonus, highly recommend
