Support for this from Sony is practically nonexistent. I’ve had the phone for a year after owning an Xperia before which I dropped. Sony were not any use with finding a stockist of replacement screens at the time, but I accepted I should probably just get a new phone.
I now find myself with aphone that will not start, and the only advice from Sony is to restart the phone – done; power it off and on – done; and to use their software – which also crashes. I really cannot recommend this due to the shocking lack of support options.

It’s a very tiny phone slim as a small bottle of water , the length is what gives it 6 inches
Audio is very poor , camera poor unclear pics, Googled apps controls excessive. You have to sign into Google to use your photo album , nearly every app required Google sign in. Shocking .
No device manager , I had to download various apps, Sony share did not work so I couldn’t share my files easily . I used Bluetooth instead. The key board also does this marsh when Typing and seems to have sensor problem.
I feel its not worth ยฃ300, I can not believe this is built by Sony
It doesn’t come with all the old Sony support , it is a Google phone tbh.
It’s not for me. Returned
The 6.8 Moto g9 power has saved the day for me

Still getting to grips, but so far, a good midrange phone, with good screen and sound.

I bought this to replace a Sony Xperia XZ1. This is my first glass bodied phone. It’s incredibly slippery. I now appreciate why half the population owning mid and high end smartphones have cracked screens. So after initial inspection and set up I put it back in the box and ordered a gel case and since it arrived and was fitted the phone is as good to hold as any cheap plastic phone!
The good stuff: nice display, very legible. I’d have preferred a 16:9 ratio but the fashion gods and their marketing devils don’t cater to normal people or reality. It’s *just* compact enough to use one handed by a 5’10 male with average size hands. The fingerprint sensor is just like on the older XZ series, i.e. ideal. The volume buttons are in the right place. The sound quality with suitable earphones is impeccable., though the output impedance seems to be somewhat higher than 1 so you might get an uneven response with balanced armature IEMs. The GPS is excellent, really fast & accurate. All the…

Best phone I’ve ever had.
I’ve always overlooked Sony in favour of Apple and Samsung, so I thought I’d give Sony a try this time and I’m so glad I did, its spot on.
The slim form feels really comfortable in the hand and the wide-screen is brilliant for watching movies.
As you would expect from Sony, the build quality is second to none.
The high waterproof rating means I have no concerns if it gets wet.
The battery life is fantastic, I easily get through a full day with moderate use.
The fingerprint reader is quick and hasn’t let me down once.
I know the camera gets mixed reviews but I’ve found that by tweaking the settings in manual mode I’ve been able to get excellent results.
The OS is pretty much stock Android so there’s no bloatwear slowing the phone and cluttering up the storage.
At ยฃ319, this phone is a bargain.

It’s a good looking phone. Colours, especially black, look much better than on Xperia X which I previously owned. It is slightly longer than Xperia X, despite having 21:9 format.
Sony didn’t disappoint with battery life, it can last even up to 5 days ! I don’t play games much, the phone is used mostly for calling, texting and internet browsing. It may require some customisation though, which means configuring apps to stop running in background if they not in use.
Camera quality is quite good, although I don’t use it very often.
Almost clear Android , with very few manufacturer apps, was one of the reason I decided to stay with Sony mobiles.
Overall, quite good device with long battery life.

Iโve had a number of Xperia phones and the, stupidly, bought a Google Pixel (tons of bloat ware and poor performance). So itโs great to be back with Sony. The overall performance is astounding for the price. Only negative so far is the video camera function seems to have issues with constant adjusting of focus and light.
