Good deterrent against thieving foxes
Tapo security camera is a good deterrent against light finger-thieving foxes prowling the streets at night when others are fast asleep in their beds, this camera picks up sounds and movements, and you can stay at work or on holiday and check up on it to see what has entered uninvited unto your property

Pretty good security devices
More than one type purchased tapo seem to be a good make all the products from them have all worked and are still working fine. Memory cards are installed in my cameras so no need to sign up to their cloud storage system, which I would consider doing if I have to move my workshop away from my house. Good will buy again

Great budget camera !
Iโve tried some of the cheaper brands and had issues like memory card getting corrupted or just stopped working all together! This one is easy to set up and connects easily with the app, add a micro sd card and itโs perfect! You get a reasonable long adapter lead and if you donโt to use the Ethernet connection, it works fine from your WiFi although depending on where you want it you may need an extender.Using Bt Broadband ensures that it gets to a longer distance or upgrade your router.

Just ok….
These cameras are ok but not without some obvious and some not so obvious flaws. First are the smart notifications – you won’t receive them unless you subscribe to Tapo care, which is a major kick in the teeth for me. Many other manufacturers provide this without subscription. The second issue is the hub. The cameras connect to it directly so you can’t split each camera on a different wireless network to boost signal to them using adapters, extenders, etc. I have one camera at the front of my house and one at the back both high up and the hub on the ground floor, close to the front, wired in to the router. I can’t achieve 2k output on the back one as the signal to the hub is too poor. It only works intermittently on 720p and I live in a small terraced house. The only way to boost the signal to that camera is to move the hub closer to it which in turn moves the hub further away from my router and would necessitate going wireless from the hub to the router or running ethernet cable to it ,which I wanted to avoid by purchasing this system! The optimal solution would be to place the hub on the second floor equidistant from the two cameras and running ethernet cable downstairs to the router or use powerline! I don’t know why they chose to go the hub route. The 2k picture is just ok. Tbh my Reolink Argus picture is better in 1080p and more accurately displays colours. The battery life is about what I expected. Certainly NOT 180 days, more like 2/3 weeks depending on positioning, number of detections etc.The app itself is fine and the build quality is about right for the price point. The motion detection/AI is also just ok. Quite a few false triggers and delayed recordinga so you get a recorded person just out of shot for example.I much prefer my Reolinks is the main takeaway, but you’ll be paying more.

Good budget outdoor camera
Have a couple of these and the Tapo TC110s.Value for money they are excellent. The AI person detection works well as do the alerts.64GB SD give about seven days continuous recording. Night vision is good. Sound is poor but video is excellent. The only gripe is the power is 9 Volt, not 12 Volt. So need a step down converter for 12 Volt battery power operation.

Great performance Cameras
Bought these cameras as replacements for some very old ‘wired’ security cameras for my home. In the first twin camera pack that was delivered, after successfully setting up the first camera I struggled to get the second to pair with the Hub. After some Live Chat with Tapo Support it was established that the second camera was faulty. I returned the whole Twin Camera pack to Amazon for Refund and they shipped a replacement the same day. It was delivered the day after. Brilliant customer service !!!The next camera pack was set up extremely quickly with no problems. I have to say that Tapo have got the user friendly set up procedure perfect. I have one camera at the front outside of the house and the second at the rear outside. The cameras are completely wireless and very easy to mount. I have had no problem with signal strength and camera connections. The quality of the colour video is extremely good. There are plenty of options for setting alarms and motion detection, including screening for people, pets or vehicles using the inbuilt AI algorithms. I have been playing with the cameras and settings a lot but the batteries seem to be holding up very well and after approximately 6 days they are still at 96%.Notifications are sent promptly to my email address. Overall, these cameras are superb and very affordable. The only downsides at the moment are: you cannot buy spare batteries for the cameras although I am advised by Tapo that these will be available for sale very shortly. Also, you cannot buy a separate individual camera. You can only buy them in the Twin Pack at the moment. Again, I am led to believe that you will be able to buy individual cameras soon. I am so pleased with the cameras that I am considering buying a second twin pack to locate in ‘blind spots’ around my house.31/03/2023: Bought a second twin pack and these worked perfectly out of the box. They were set up in no time with one camera connected to my existing H200 Hub and the second camera connected to the new H200 Hub. Battery life is fantastic. Obviously to get the best battery life I have played with all the settings to optimise the performance for my needs versus battery life. I have always been sceptical about the battery life of such cameras but I have to say that these are brilliant. I have to say that I have found the video recording to the MicroSD cards that I have installed into the H200 Hubs is more than adequate making it unnecessary to subscribe to the Tapo Cloud recording option. As a result of my experience so far I have upgraded my Review to 5 Stars,

Brilliant value for money

ย I love this camera as it’s so easy to use. I bought it to watch the wildlife in my garden at night and it delivered. The night vision works really well as you can see by the video I attached. The motion detector can pick up movement from hedgehogs which I was hoping for. Love the different settings. I’ve been playing around with them to find what’s suitable as it will pick up trees blowing in the wind if the sensitivity is too high. Bear in mind the cheaper model I bought is mains wired. My son’s window is always on the latch so this wasn’t a problem. I found the 2 way speaker and microphone a bonus too, if only for making people jump when they’re outsude by making strange noises lol. Obviously this would be very useful if you are using it for security

Tapo C310 (be sure to get an SD card)
I give this four stars because of the difficulty I had unscrewing the SD card cover. I used an appropriate screwdriver, but was only able to unscrew one of the screws. With difficulty. The other was in too tight and I only ended up stripping the Philips head. Luckily the plastic cover wasnโt brittle and I was able to bend it up far enough to slip the card in and screw it down again. That was the only difficulty. Setting up the Tapo app on my iPad and installing it was straightforward. I installed my C310 outside, using the supplied paper template to drill the screw holes for the included plugs and screws. I used a 6mm masonry drill. As others have noted, the thin power cable could be accommodated by the rubber seal of my double glazed window.I find the picture quality quite good and was pleasantly surprised that the rain hasnโt affected the lens. Yet. My camera is slightly protected by the eaves of my roof and points down, but nonetheless fairly exposed. I wondered when buying that I might need a cowl, but as none suitable were available I went ahead and set up without one.I have a windowsill Tapo C210 camera as well, but canโt use its night vision as the window reflects back the infrared. I enjoyed the clear black and white night images of my C310 and was astonished at how many cats used my fence as a path!Stuck screw notwithstanding, I recommend the Tapo C310. Itโs easy to set up and install using common household tools. No adhesive strips were provided, but Iโm sure Gorrilla Strips or similar would hold its slight weight against a flat surface.

Good camera
After being misled and misled a Blink camera system I looked at many reviews and finally chose this camera system. It has no subscription plan and things are stored on the SD card which you have to buy separately. The night vision is not very good, when buying I thought it had a flood light but, these are actually sensors. I am only keeping the system as we have a flood light that comes on when someone approaches the property, therefore this light helps us see whatโs on the camera during the midnight hours. I get frustrated by the playback function as you u canโt delete these on the app. Which I have used other camera systems in the past when this is possible. I have not done it myself but, after googling it states that you have to remove the SD card to delete anything when inserting into a computer. You can leave it it and the camera system will overwrite it. What I tend to do is monitor this everyday, if there is anything suspicious I send to the memory part of the camera. That way you wonโt have to go back through all playbacks to find what you need. As there is no way of marking those playbacks to be able to filter easily. Maybe the company can try and improve the functionality for future and present customers. I would also wanted a choice in colour as a white camera is very noticeable and this company does not give that option either.

Works well, but replacement battery not available
These cameras work well. There is a second or two delay before recording starts when motion is detected, but they’re still very effective and trigger every time. Connection to the recorder/hub is easy too. I would have awarded 5 stars but you cannot purchase a replacement battery. They are referred to in the ops manual as Tapo A100 batteries, but I’ve not been able to find one available for sale anywhere. I’ve also emailed their customer support (but have not received a response from them either). The reason a replacement battery is needed is so it can be charged in readiness for when the one in the camera is exhausted. Otherwise your camera is out of action for 6 hours whilst it’s recharged.

Very good quality!
Wasnโt expecting much for the price but itโs great! The picture quality is brilliant and very clear, set up was easy, just plug it in and connect to wifi (or Ethernet) and youโre ready to go! You download the app on your phone or tablet etc and get all the notifications through that. The only โflawโ is the screws to insert the SD card (doesnโt come with it by the way-you purchase this separately) to give extra storage space, the screws are rubbish! If Iโd have had a tiny screwdriver it probably would have been fineโฆ the first one came off easily but the second one wouldnโt budge and then rounded it off, so I had to bend the little piece of plastic back to get to itโฆ doesnโt affect its use, but it still annoyed me haha, but I havenโt deducted any stars as itโs still a great piece of kit, would definitely recommend and I will be purchasing more in future.

It just works.
The hub is wireless for a start. Batteries seem to last well, image quality is good, features are good and it will and does now the difference between dog, car, person. Zones can be set and do work well. Voice recording and speaking also works well. Also great for seeing wildlife at night. You can using the app simply look at whatโs going on live at any time from anywhere in the world. So you can be away on holiday or a day out and see who/what has triggered the camera or just have a look. I do highly recommend this 2 camera system with hub and will be buying another 2 cameras to cover the rest of my propery. There are many systems like this some cheap some very expensive but to be honest this does pretty much everything most people are looking for. Itโs east set up, east to use, and definitely waterproof. If a bad person steals something from your property and the decides to steal your camera then youโll already have the images/videos on your hub. A must have in this day and age. A++

TP Link has become my IP camera of preference for all my outdoor and indoor cameras
I have replaced all my previous brands of IP CCTV cameras with TP Link cameras. The app is superior to the others I have used with far more versatility and unites all my Tapo products under one screen. The ability to add an SD card to this external camera is ideal.Another USP is that when accessing the camera recorded footage, or to view current images, you do so directly through your own network and not through an external network by the manufacturer resulting in an instant image with no lag or delay. This camera is very waterproof, even an accidental hosing down saw it work perfectly through the torrent.

Could be bettwr
These are nice cameras, easy to set up and pick up my wifi ok in the garden although they have to be quite near the hub.The only issue i have is with the motion setting. It picks up a plant blowing in the wind in the garden as a person detected and this is really annoying as every few seconds it send through a notification, yes you can turn that off but the issue is it depletes the battery every time its picks something up that is just simply blowing. I only re- charged the battery 25 days ago and it already needs re-charging due to this. So i think they need to look at that and improve it.Otherwise not too bad- iโm looking to see if they do a solar panel to fit as if its going to continuously pick ip a small ant blowing in the wind i will spend more time getting the camera down and re-charging it than i will actually using it for purpose! Of course that is going to increase the total cost of it all!

Good & reliable
I Have all 6 of mine plugged into my router using Netgear unmanaged switches. They work perfectly. No faffing about with wifi connections. And they all display on my iPhone where they send me 2/ 3 minute video clips of any motion. If you zoom in the picture goes a little fuzzy, but on the whole very good. They do go down occasionally for Firmware updates, but that’s to be expected.

Brilliant camera & great value
I wanted to monitor the drive where cars are parked & people accessing the property.I had a bit of trouble setting the device up. It is an aggravating process to switch from ethernet to wifi or vice-versa, so choose wisely!Once installed & wi-fi connected (the App is good for this set-up, but it still took a couple of attempts), the camera works really well. Excellent image quality and good info on the App. I think the sensitivity is a bit high – it catches virtually anything passing near the property, not just actual incursions, but that’s better than the alternative.Notifications via the App work well and video is readily available from the memory card – I use a 64GB card for plenty of storage.I have siren muted & haven’t tried to use the voice announcement yet. For me, the deterrence value & image recording are sufficient.I would definitely recommend this product.

A Broken Leg Would Stop Me, They Said…
Whilst hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro to prove to my mother-in-law that I was indeed able to milk a yak, I unfortunately snapped my leg in twelve places, which was awful, but still managed to net a few pints of the white liquid I had intended, and got her off my back for a few days. Upon my return to the North of England I found it impossible to leave the second lounge to nip to my greenhouse to tend on the turnips. They were soon due to be harvested for all kinds of stew, but as they needed affection, I was in a pickle (which brought back bad memories as I failed to grow them last year). This camera not only allowed me to observe using my iOS devices, but it also allowed me to observe the crop using my Android devices. I cannot comment on if I would have been able to observe on my Chrome devices, as I own none of them, they’re too cheeky for a man as honest as myself. I was even able to sing to my crop using the microphone on my iOS and Android devices which would be blurted out in True Tone from the speaker on the camera. With only one torn part left unhealed in my arm, I managed to harvest, and they are said to be the best turnips this side of the village, apart from Mr Harshpappery who nails it every time. His carrots make Rudolph weak at the knees. This camera makes surveillance easy, and now, I can see when my mother-in-law is approaching the house, and quickly squeeze myself behind my American-style Fridge/Freezer combo, so no more taking abuse, and no more must I need make trip to mountainous terrain to prove my worth as a man, or indeed boy. P.s. This camera is fabulous. My only qualm is that the SD card slot is a right pain in the side to unscrew without losing the screws.

A bit disappointed
Fairly easy to setup and use with good quality video, although detection not very sensitive. Unfortunately after a few weeks 1 of the 2 cameras stopped working with obvious water leakage inside the battery housing and lens. TP link support, after various requests for description and video, said they would phone (from USA!) but never did. Gave up, very disappointed.

Great but far from perfect
I bought this camera to replace an old 720p camera we use to see what wildlife passes through our garden at night. The best thing about this camera is itโs value for money, the image quality is great and the camera has some brilliant features, such as two way audio (which is far better than I expected it to be!). So far so goodโฆ..Whatโs not so good on this camera is itโs motion detection systems. With or without motion zones set (and even setting the camera to its lowest sensitivity setting) pretty much everything triggers an alert. Rain and fog at night being the biggest problems for us so far. To be honest itโs so bad that the option is pretty much useless if you plan on using this camera outdoors. One solution I thought might help would be the person detection option, which isnโt standard with the camera as it requires a subscription to Tapo Care. However during a free trial I have sound it to be no better – cats, cars and rain all trigger many person alerts so itโs not with paying for Tapo Care unless you really need online storage. TP Link seem well aware of the problems with motion alerts, on their forum they are promising firmware updates in the future, but until they come donโt expect great things in regards to motion detection and alerts. This is a real shame as there are some interesting options, such as line crossing detection (Iโm guessing for paths and driveways) which are available without Tapo Care so could be really good if TP Link deliver on the promised updates. One thing which is a mixed bag is the Tapo app, overall I like it and itโs very easy to use. Setting up a device takes a few minutes at most, but again itโs little things you expect to be part of the app which arenโt. We quite a few Tapo bulbs & plugs etc but at present there is no way to link these devices to the camera. I expected that a motion detection on the camera would be able to turn on a light etc for a set amount of time but no this isnโt possible. Once again TP Link say there are updates coming in future firmware releases but as of writing this review itโs not possible to link an the camera to other Tapo devices (although given how bad the motion detection alerts are this is maybe not a bad thing!!).Overall though I was still really impressed with the build quality, image quality and price of the cameras. So much so I ended up buying three in total, although only as we can get by ok without the motion alerts. If you donโt specifically need them this is a really good camera, however if these are crucial for your intended use Iโd be tempted to look elsewhere.

Impressive technology,good cam
The app is really easy to use,I did , however have to apply a firmware update due to an error messageMy only gripes with this camera is the power lead its only 3 metres long which sounds a lot,but unless you have a socket extremely close to your cam position you will need to extend it. Some bell wire is perfect .other problem is the cable from the camera which is short as well ,even if it was a bit longer so you could feed the cables thru the wall you are going to struggle as the power lead and ethernet lead requires a fairly wide chunky drill bit to drill thru your wall best idea is to mount the camera on a IP rated plastic box Screwfix is your friend here. and connect the cables in the box.i used some self adhesive trunking to run the power wire up the side of pvc door so you do not notice it.Would have been better if they had an option to buy this without a wired ethernet on the camera and gave you a 5 metre power extension cable.a cheap plastic screwdriver to get the cover off the SD card would also have been useful, and maybe an output on the camera that you could connect a bell to for notifications.having said that I use a line crossing detection on the app, this is far more superior to motion detection which triggers anyone walking past house etc.Update, after months of use this is still working ok .I’ve had a couple of times were I had to switch off and on again but apart from that really good.will buy another for rear yard.

Better than expected
Having tried other camera at this price point and been very disappointed I decided to go for this one. I already us tapo products along with the app so I know they are good but this camera excided my expectations, it works really well with the app and managing it is simply and straight forward, I would highly recommend it.

Great camera system and battery life.
I think TP-Link stuff is great. I bought these to replace Arlo cameras which refused to play nicely with my Three 5G broadband. Cameras are easy to set up, and the app works really well. Picture quality is excellent, both day and night, night being aided by a floodlight. Don’t get many false notifications. It gets confused on a windy sunny day with shadows moving, but apart from that they are spot on.They were easy to fit, and Wi-Fi coverage is fine for me. Also, great value for money. Only downside is the monthly subscription, but most cameras have this.

Great camera
I bought two of these, great cameras and the quality of the recordings is very good, however the instructions are not the best and also the motion detection settings are a nightmare to set up still struggling now.. but the cameras work well and I cant fault the quality.

Excellent, so easy to set up
Bought this as I received a 20 years service voucher at work. All I can say is it was a dream to setup, integrating with my wifi setup was a doddle using the Tapo app. Before mounting it I tested the cameras inside and out for wifi range, absolutely no problem at all. Nice touch as well was the inclusion of a couple of mounting templates to drill the required holes to mount the cameraโs. No problems here, would highly recommend this product to anyone. Was simple including it with my Google Home network.

Great clarity, note though…
Picrure quality is superb and the wide anngle lense gives great coverage.Subscription is required however you can install 128gb sd card. You can get an extension cable to supply power. Im connected ovee wifi and you can wire in ethernet cable also (note for external use without a an outdoor plug it has to go to a window , vent is nor feasible. And to feed through a pilot hole through external wall seemed excessive.Camera comes with water protection gromits. A bonus.Privacy settings avaliable dor concerned neighbour infringement.

Impressive Features and Performance
Cable free cameras, simple to install, wide range of functions managed on a straightforward Tapo App. The quality of camera image is high though dependent on wi fi signal strength. I used Tapo’s own wifi extender to increase the signal strength to one camera installed in a carport.Tapo support on the internet is speedy and thorough in its response resolving one issue I had, of my own making, not the camera’s fault.I subscribed to the Tapo Cloud for ease of storage and deletion of unwanted video clips rather than using an SD card, downloading clips to then view, save and/or delete.Battery life depends on usage and camera settings. I use the Privacy Mode when at home to conserve battery power.Tapo have just released spare battery packs, it seemed prudent to purchase one so that I can rotate charging the cameras without one ever being out of use.My large dog gives ample warning of anyone approaching the property when using Privacy Mode!

Good camera
This has offered reassurance that we can observe visitors to our property even when we are not home. 4 stars as it does drop off the Internet from time to time , but this is easily remedied.

Great value and easy to use
I was a little bit sceptical for the price but I’m really pleased. The camera was really easy to set up, the app works well and images are clear. If I was to give one negative it would be that it is sometimes too sensitive, I end up getting lots of notifications for heavy rain or things blowing a bit in the wind.

Good not great
First, if you think itโs gonna be better than I fully wired installed camera system youโre wrong. This is more convenient camera system.Having the camera being wireless makes it very easy to install. It connects effortlessly to the hub.So why have I given it three stars? This is down to the software programming. The cameras will not capture/record video 24/7 so that they will save battery life. This is understandable as theyโre wireless.Youโre able to adjust the settings of how long it will record once detected movement, but this is still very limited. Even if you decrease the movement intervals to 0 seconds, it will take a few seconds before it will start recording again and therefore you miss potentially valuable information shown to you in the recording. It also fails to trigger from far away so youโre not able to get the whole scene from start to finish. For expensive the postman starts in the middle of the video walking to the door.Lastly, battery life certainly is in 180 days. Maybe if you didnโt record during 180 days it might last 180 days but thatโs not practical. With the settings turn to max to allow for recording for as long as possible once movement is detected to enable you to replay most of the scene, itโs recording. Youโll get 1 month max which is why I have attachment to a solar panel charger which extends the battery life.Overall, the camera quality is good and the fact that you can place the cameras literally anywhere is it great added bonus.

Great value
Great value for your money, easy to set up and offers maximum security almost professional quality. The Tapo range is a must for ease and worry free home security. Night or day anywhere you can access the cameras. Iโve invested a lot into the brand and I highly rate them.

Useful for spotting Bambi and mates
The media could not be loaded.
ย Our intruders are fallow deer; they eat the vegetables we’re growing and, for some reason, Hebe shrubs and flower heads. They are a confounded nuisance so we decided to watch out for them with two of these cameras. They work fine and we can chase Bambi and mates out of the garden (must get a dog to do the work for us).The cameras have also let us watch the other wildlife, such as foxes, badgers and hedgehogs. Even moths and bats flying around are on camera. Quite entertaining. Are there any limitations to these cameras? The range of the infra red lights is around 15m, adequate but our garden is large. I noticed that the IR lighting of the rear camera is bouncing off the soffit boards so Iโll fit a baffle. The motion detection does recognise humans from other movements and the playback time bar is colour coded to indicate this. Unfortunately, rain drops are interpreted as something on the move so rainy nights can be busy on the playback bar. The neighbourhood spiders sometimes spin webs on the cameras so they show up too.In our rural location, electricity can be an optional extra and extended power cuts screw up the camera connections to the local network. They need resetting using a tiny button inside a panel on the underside of each camera. Once reset, one just reconnects the cameras as though newly acquired. Note, though, that this can be a pain if the cameras are hard to reach. We have one accessible from an upstairs window to get around this problem. We havenโt really used the audio connections on the cameras and, after the free month, we havenโt used the rented online storage preferring just to store locally with 32Gb micro SD cards inside the cameras. These continuously overwrite when the cards are full but archive footage can accessed via the software and saved on tablets. It would be nice if the developers produce software to run on proper computers as well.

Itโs OK
Tapo outdoor security camera- had camera In service for about 6 months now so feel I can give a accurate review so the build quality of camera is excellent itโs lasted well in some pretty bad weather night vision is good and crisp video quality is excellent and camera is easy to setup. However there is a big flaw, if itโs raining at night it activates the motion detection even when set to lowest sensitivity. One thing I really wanted was the element of security that would send a notification on motion detection at night unfortunately I canโt use this element because of the rain so itโs just set to video and not alert quite disappointing other than that I would recommend the device as long as you donโt need that element of security.

Love this
So easy to install and it alerts you when you have a visitor when you’re out some of the settings are really sensitive so I turned them off but I only wanted it to see what was going on outside my block of flats I have it linked to 3 different phone s and I couldn’t be happier with it it far outweighs the other system I have, there’s no need for the DVR cos it’s on the phone happy days

Good cameras
Good quality product. Takes about 15 minutes to install and another 15 to setup and deal with firmware updates etc.Battery life looks really good, down to 85% after almost 4 weeks.Using them with cloud so cannot say anything about usage with SD card.

Great cameras and setup but a bad cable
The system is so easy to setup and the app is very intuitive and helpful. Have a memory card ready to put in the hub and you’re good to go.One bit of advice though, the cat5 cable they packed did not work. So you might need to buy another one to link the hub to your router.

Good quality and good value
Please note this is an internal camera.Firstly, they’re very easy to setup. The bracket is plastic but holds the camera firmly in position. Plug the mains adaptor into the camera, download the app, scan the QR code on the camera with your phone and link to your WiFi. I had it installed in a few minutes. The app is shared with other TP link products including vacuums and smart switches. It allows you to see a live view or look through the motion detection videos, if enabled. If you have multiple cameras it can be set it up to see all the cameras live on a page together. The videos have a small photo and an icon showing whether a person or movement triggered the event and clicking on the picture runs the video in a larger window or full screen if you turn the phone or tablet to landscape view. I’d prefer that the small photo was larger so I could see more detail before I decide whether to view the video.Setting the sensitivity is a balance to not getting every movement triggering an event but picking up vehicle or people movement accurately. You can set up different triggers and areas or none at all.If you have a micro SD card you can access your events from there. I use a 128Gb card. The only problem would be if the camera was stolen then you’ve lost the videos. If you need it, you can pay a subscription and get web based storage.I think the camera is good value for the convenience and quality.

Does exactly as it says!
Bought this for a bit of security for outside the house. I am amazed at the quality of the camera and how easy it has been to set up. I only bought the one camera and I will definitely be buying another one for the back of the house!! 10 out of 10!!! Would recommend to anyone.
