So to start my reveiw here is on the Technics AZ40s, the younger brother of the AZ60s. I own alot of true wireless earbuds to name just a few, jabra elite 85t, jabra elite 75t,soundcore liberty 3 Pro, jabra elite 7 active and I’ve also owned the sony wf-1000xm4s. After doing my research on the Technics AZ40s and the AZ60s, I opted to buy the AZ40s. My reasoning for this is as follows. The top end priced earbuds all come with ANC and wireless charging, which is great but I very rarely walk around with ANC switched on and I don’t think I’ve ever charged my cases using the wireless feature. All the above features are great to have for sure, but 9 times out of 10 your going to be paying top dollor for those features, except of course for the liberty 3 pros which are hands down fantastic. All the reviews I’ve read and watched about the AZ40s state that they are more or less the same as the AZ60s but £80 cheaper. So I bought these and WOW I’m not disappointed. They have amazing sound…

I’m owning a pair of Sony XB-700. Very realiable, amazing range, endless battery, bassy and quite clear for their price range. But, no HiFi, no ANC. So I decided to go to the next level. I decided to go with the Technics because of the nostalgia, and because of the Sony’s XM4 foam tips falling apart, which I’m considering it to be unacceptable for their price, and no sillicone tips included.
Out of the box they sounded flat, no bass, but very detailed with good instruments separation.

So I bought 3 pairs of wireless earbuds cause I couldn’t decide which one was the best – Airpod pros, technics EAH60 and Sony wh-1000mx4.
The airpods were the most comfortable but we’re bad in pretty much every other aspect – sound quality was the worst, noise cancellation wasn’t fantastic and mic quality was mediocre. Felt like style over substance really.
The Sony’s had the best sound but were big and always felt like they were gonna fall out my ear which meant the noise cancelling never felt great. The mics were worse than the airpods.
The technics win out, not quite as comfortable as the airpods but everything else is way better. Sound quality and volume was as good as the Sony’s and much better than the airpods. Noise cancelling is better than both the others. Microphone quality very good too!
I;ve given them 5 stars however a 4.8 star rating is probably more accurate for the comfort factor – they are comfortable just not quite as comfortable as the airpod pros.

The Best earbuds ever. I got these to help me with my working from home whilst on many Teams calls and they are brilliant.
So easy to connect and set up out of the box, and the Technics APP is really cool and clever. It even has a find my earbud function for when I put them down somewhere whilst making a coffee.
What I really like is the thought that Technics put in to these with the customer – they come with SEVEN different sizes of ear fitting, I have quite small ears and there is an attachment perfect for me which means these fit nicely in my ears.
And I can happily sit on a teams call all day in comfort and not even realise I m wearing ear buds.
It is so easy to buy some cheap ear buds on Amazon as there are so many available, as I did before, but I would definitely recommend to spend a bit extra and go for a brand like Technics as the sound quality and build quality is way better than the ones I have had before.
