It works and setup was simple enough. I inserted the SIM and it connected to the Internet straight away.
The problem I’m having is with the data speed. I went for a Three SIM, which is the same as my mobile. On my mobile I get speeds 15mbps up to about 50mbps. However, I can only seem to average about 3mbps with this router. It is often below 0.5mbps and unusable. The latency is pathetic which causes a lot of timeouts.
My phone constantly massively out performs it. Same network, 4g SIM. Right next to each other, the phone speed will be 30 or 40 mbps faster every single time. I’m having to use my phone as a hotspot instead, which is not really practical.
Update: I’ve done over a week of testing now, comparing multiple handsets and SIMS on different networks. In summary, I put perfectly good high speed SIMS from any other device into this router and get extremely poor latency and speeds. It is averaging less than 1mbps now.
Also, the interface is too basic so I cannot diagnose anything….

This router is excellent, for the money I don’t think it can be matched, not on Amazon or eBay that is. It’s only a basic device, 2 LAN – 1 being WLAN, & a RJ45 port on the rear. The SIM card slot is a bit fiddly, took me a while to get my 4G SIM inserted, but that’s probably my fat fingers! I get excellent WiFi coverage, with the option to have separate a 2.4 & 5 GHz signal. There’s an App that helps get the router setup & fiddle with the settings. If you have a large home, then this might not be the router for you, but anyone wanting an excellently featured, 4G & Broadband capable router, this is the one! 5 stars!

Would not connect to mobile network, it would try about 3 time’s then froze, this is the second warehouse deal router that I’ve purchased and had to send back. I thought warehouse deals are just opened box but obviously faulty in my experience.

I was fed-up with my broadband supplier, the cost had gone up and their speed and reliability had gone down. So I quit them and took-out a 30day contract sim only at 10 quid a month with 60GB data. Everything works as it should, only gripe is that the sim is 5G but this device only uses 4G but I guess you get what you pay for a 5G router is several times more expensive.

Bought this as we had very poor signal where we have the caravan sited. Very easy to set up and gave us stable internet. Very strong signal from the start. Been using it for a while now and still giving great service.

We live within site of a 4/5g mast, got fed up with fibre providers increasing prices for their service. Only two of us live in a ground floor flat with 7 devices connected to the Tenda. No problem playing on line high demand games. No problem streaming TV. My opinion is the Tenda is slightly better than my phone hotspot (without the phone battery drain).
On that basis happy with my purchase, but will upgrade to a 5g router when the prices are more reasonable.

Very good router it just works and the interface is self explanatory. Wi-Fi signal is the same as by smart hub and you merge 2.4 and 5ghz bands together, separate them when adding smart bulbs. Only slight issue with mine is that the spring that lets you eject the SIM card is not working so if I need to change it I will have to use some tweezers.

It does the job, although claiming it is an 4g โ+โ is an exaggeration.
Download speeds are pretty slow when you compare to other devices at the same location/time.
Even if you have good 4g coverage in your area like I do, you wouldnโt get enough speed.
