Fantastic piece of kit, I work in IT and thought all this cheaper mesh stuff for the home can’t be as good as the expensive stuff used in commercial installations but actually it’s pretty good!
I was so tired of the 10 different Wi-fi networks covering different parts of our house which still wouldn’t allow you to just walk around on your phone without losing signal and having to pick a new Wi-fi network in settings etc don’t get me wrong we had fast AC networks everywhere but it’s pretty rubbish when you need to swap to another one with the only alternative being the slower 2.4Ghz Wi-fi which goes much further but is nothing in comparison to 5Ghz for moving a load of data quickly.
Anyway I did loads of research for the best mesh Wi-fi APs currently on the market for homes and looked at the real world reviews from people who had actually purchased them and these from TP-link kept coming up as the best!
I looked at all the other mesh products and everything else had loads more bad…

This review is for the Deco M4 with 3 units. It is an annoyance that Amazon continues to lump reviews for different model/specs together!
Our broadband supplier is vodafone. The broadband connection into the house is good, their supplied router is beyond hopeless. Really poor signal strength and frequent dropouts. Parts of the house had no signal at all, in the room where the router was the wifi signal would just drop numerous times in the day and no amount of changing channels or letting it adjust channels automatically seemed to resolve that. I received this product yesterday. First impression – the units are packaged adequately and look reasonably neutral and unassuming as they should. They were a bit bigger than I expected. Roughly the size of two tins stacked on top of one another but mostly these will be hidden out of sight behind units etc anyway. Maybe not the best laboratory conditions but probably typical of most users.
SETUP – was simple enough although it is not quite as…
