I purchased the Deco M9 with 3 units in box.
Live in large old house 4600 sq ft with solid brick walls over 3 floors. Virgin Media Dud3 on ground floor living room. Could not stream in upstairs rooms where speed through 3 walls was 2 to 5 Mb/sec. Dropouts were frequent.
Slowest recorded speed on uppermost floor (where I have not put Deco disc) is now 240 Mb/sec.
I set up Deco as router and put Virgin Hub3 as modem only, which is the default recommended setup.
Setup quick and easy if right sequence is followed, so for benefit of those who may do it in future………..
1. MOST importantly, do the pinhole reset on your Virgin Hub3 by 20 sec+ press on pin hole button just below lowermost ethernet port on back of Hub. This resulted in an improvement of my router speed tested with laptop connected to lowest ethernet port on Hub. It will restart as router with WiFi as default from Virgin.
2. Connect to Hub interface by typing address 192.168.0.1 in browser. Use password (8 digits) on bottom of…

UPDATED REVIEW.
The Deco M5 has been installed for two weeks. It has behaved flawlessly.
The three units are delivering the full speed of our 100 Mb/s Virgin broadband throughout the house (an extended old two-storied terrace house, not large but with solid brick interior walls).
Our needs are modest: a system delivering steady wifi for ordinary laptop use, some iPlayer or movie streaming to the Apple TV, and (what in particular we didn’t have before) enough speed for reliable quality FaceTime video without sitting next to the router. Unlike some reviewers, we have no need for fancy control of the system: plug-and-play is what we were after, and is what we have got.
Initial set up was extremely easy: a couple of firmwear updates have since installed without any fuss. There have been no drop-outs, no disappearing connections between the Decos. The wifi connection has been extremely stable and reliable. Those FaceTime video chats work a treat far from the Hub.

This is the best thing ever!! I have had a problem for over a year now where I needed a WiFi signal in my garage for a ring floodlight camera. The ring device requires just 1mbps connection to work correctly. The garage is only approx 3 meters from the back of my house and I have over 50mbps in the house.
First off I used WiFi extenders…. these were rubbish and very intermittent. Next I used TP-link powerline WiFi extenders. These were better but still struggled. Whatโs the point in having a security camera if it only works intermittently?!
The TP Link deco arrived today and took less than ten minutes to set up. One device by my router. One device at the back of the house and one inside my garage. Wow! I know have 50mbps in my garage. Camera works flawlessly and I also have WiFi at the bottom of my 26ft long garden!!
Time will tell of course if it can maintain this and is reliable but at the moment Iโm over the moon and just wish Iโd found out about these a year ago and hadnโt…
