This is a review of the TP-Link AX7800 otherwise known as the Archer AX95 not the AXE75 that Amazon seems to switch too, anyway we had a Asus AX88U for a couple of years great router but we started to have problems so decided to replace it,we tried the TP-Link AXE75 certainly a downgrade from the Asus AX88U but a nice little router be not the best WiFi range and speeds also the upload speeds would drop randomly drop into the low 10Mbps and sometimes Kbps when our connection is 100Mbps upload,we then tried the Asus ROG AX6000 that had issues with packet loss for some reason resulting in browsing issues, soooo we went with the TP-Link AX7800 (AX95) Amazing Router amazing WiFi my son often gets the full 900Mbps/100Mbps on his Pixel 7 around the house even upstairs, works perfectly with our devices including Laptop,Chromecasts,PS5 and Xbox and Smart TVs,just been a joy to use and fantastic so far (touch wood) i would probably go as far as to say this is the best router we have ever had…

Would highly recommend. Easy to setup and configure, really good UI so easy to follow and use, great app to control and monitor – couldn’t ask for more.
I got this to replace my BT Smart Hub 2 because I wasn’t getting the rated speeds from one room away (500Mbps), this router immediately solved that issue for a really decent price and I easily get my rated speeds through WiFi, no need to plug in directly with Ethernet cables which the ISP kept telling me I needed to do. Obviously the supplied smart hub isn’t great so, if you are on a high speed package and want something that can handle it and have really good broadcast range, this is what you need.

I am very impressed with this router. Very easy to set up. Turned my Virgin media hub to modem mode and connect this router with no issues. All networks set up and devices connected, including guest networks.
Has very good unrestricted DNS management, can set up VPN if you wish and the parental controls are amazing.
I had a OneMesh compatible wifi extender that is also already linked and I can’t be any happier. I no longer have WiFi drops like before.
It has a scheduled reboot function, scheduled wifi on/off function, blocking of certain sites , MAC and IP binding plus filtering, device blocking.
It is just what I needed.

I bought this to attach to my Virgin Super Hub 3 as the WiFi on it is trash. This router instantly resolved that issue and more.

This router is very good value for money as it was only £140 when I bought it.

I did debate buying a more expensive WiFi mesh solution but this router alone is completely fine for my average 3 bedroom house. The only place I struggle for signal is the direct opposite part of my house (through 3 walls and a ceiling) if my oven/microwave is both in the way and turned on.

If you have under 500mbps download then it doesn’t matter if you use 5ghz or 6ghz as they will offer little difference in speed (though 5ghz will give better range etc).
If you have 1gbps or more then 6ghz or 6e connection (on supported devices) will work faster if you’re in the same room in direct line of sight.

The only reason I’m not giving it more than 4 stars is because it does need to be rebooted on occasion as the connection can go stale over WiFi, but it’s usually rock solid other than…

In 20+ years I’ve never had any issues with ISP supplied routers until we moved to a property with fibre to the premises. The supplied BT Smart Hub 2 had slow WiFi and smarthome devices had lots of issues staying fully connected (Especially Google Homes constantly saying there was a glitch). I purchased the TP-LINK AXE5400 and all the issues have gone. Devices get 480Mbits of the 500Mbits over WiFi in the same room. Two storeys up the WiFi speeds are still over 200Mbits. The router auto runs optimisation scans a few times a week and moves devices away from crowded channels. This is great if you live in an area with lots of other households and keeps everything running at the best speeds available. The additional 6Ghz channel only cost me £45 more over the dual band AX5400 so I went for the tri-band WiFi6E model. Only my phone can use this channel but it was worth it I have a completely dedicated and fast connection for just my phone. The Tether router config app is reliable and…
