Update 2 : Found a reference to this speed problem being caused by Windows 10 Creator update. Downloaded Realtek driver version 1030.17.1101.2016 and it now gets full speed.
Update 1 : Tried with other wifi router connected to different broadband and works with faster download speed. It seems to be something with my network setup, which is strange as the Netgear product works without any download speed limitation, and this is now a TP-link product connecting to a TP-link router so would have expected greater compatibility. Will update with further findings.

Had been using a Netgear AC1900 (A6210) USB adapter of similar design but had encountered some freezing in online games. Thought I’d try this as I have a TP-Link C9 Archer router. Used to have an ancient D-LINK adapter which had some problems, mainly disconnecting or exhibiting high latency every so often. I skype with people often and the video would oftentimes freeze or warp and this was a very frequent occurrence. Finally pinned the problem down to the adapter. Bought this as an affordable replacement, couldn’t be happier. Never disconnects and latency is actually the same as a wired connection (20-50ms), video calls are top notch.
Good product. Although be advised that it did show some latency and such at the beginning, and this was resolved by downloading the proper drivers for the device from the TP-LINK website (updating drivers on my old adapter did not fix the issue). Be sure to select drivers for the exact version of your device! I wasn’t paying much attention and installed the driver for version 1 at first, which had some issues. This gadget is RUBBISH. It constantly loses connection with wifi, is impossible to reconnect without removing it and then plugging it in again. Just wish I’d been quicker off the mark and sent it back, absolute waste of money and time.

I was in a situation were I needed to change my connection from wired to wireless, my computer wasn’t wireless, so I was delighted to find out all I needed was a little usb type dongle to connect to my computer and hey presto my computer would have a wireless connection. There were so many to choose from, so in the end I went for the simplest and easiest looking option, it was also the cheapest. It was really simple to set up, I am not a tech person at all, it was a simple plug and play set up, obviously you need to type in a few thing here and there for the set up but that was it. Although my internet speed is not super super fast, it runs at a speed I am happy with and it gives my computer a wireless set up, so I can’t ask for more.

Absolutely terrible connectivity issues. I’ve got this plugged into my Asus Crosshair V Formula Z motherboard, so it’s not a cheap PC. This Wireless stick constantly keeps disconnecting and stays disconnected as if it was unplugged (Device Manager STILL see’s it). Then have to physically unplug it and plug it back in and hope it works.
I have tried it on another PC, and updated drivers. Even had Amazon replace it under 3 year Warranty, but same issue with the replacement one as well.

I bought the T2U Plus because I couldn’t connect to 2.4Ghz networks on my old TP-LInk adapter, and I wasn’t happy with the performance. The device is easy to set up, just plug it in and install the driver, but it’s when you actually use it that the problems start.
In my home, I have a 100Mbps broadband connection, well within the advertised 433 Mbps link speed of this device. During my use however, I was only able to achieve pathetic speeds of no more than 40 Mbps consistently, less than half the speed I pay for and less than 10% of the advertised bandwidth. Both my phone and laptop can achieve speeds of 80-100 Mbps on the same network, and my old T1U adapter was actually faster.
My connection quality also took a dive when I “upgraded” to the T2U+. My packet loss is at a consistent 5-16%, which is bad for anyone looking to take VOIP or video calls, play online games, or any other latency-critical application like stock or cryptocurrency trading.
I am sorely disappointed with this…

I like the device now that it works, but to get this running on a Raspberry Pi you need drivers.
It took me hours to get the right thing, but luckily you don’t have to cos I got you dawg, don’t even trip:
All you gotta do is plug an ethernet cable and your new wifi adapter into your raspberry pi and go to Google; Type in “fars robotics wifi” and you’ll find what you need. Download that script, then run the three lines of commands on the top of that page. Reboot and wait for the green light to glow on your new wifi adapter.
If you’re running Retropie and are wondering where to enter commands, you can use the file manager in the Retropie menu or you can google Pixel Desktop and add a full desktop environment to your pi (but it will still always boot to retropie first)
