We bought this camera for product photography. It’s really handy and takes great pictures. I would highly recommend you get a decent sized memory card for it though as the pictures are big and require a lot of memory space. The only downfall I believe is the battery life. It runs our fairly quickly, so probably get a spare one if you’re planning to take pictures while on a trip.

I bought this as an entry level DSLR camera and I have not been disappointed. I have just been to North Norway and the camera performed excellent given the extreme cold conditions. The kit lens performed admirably taking landscapes and low-light, long exposure images of the Northern Lights. An excellent camera to start with.

Great camera, as I’m only at the beginning of my journey with photography it seems to be a good choice. The photos are very clear and good quality, you have a lot of different modes to shoot in, and also a chance to play around in the manual mode which lets you learn more about different aspects of the camera.
Unfortunately the snapbridge doesn’t work with my phone and I keep getting errors when trying to connect. Other than that it has been great experience so far.

What a fantastic camera, not my first Nikon so I was expecting good things… First thing that struck me was the nice build quality, the grip is comfortable and ergonomic, the menu is easy to follow, but what impressed me the most was the image quality and the lightining fast focus. Excellent.

I purchased the D3500 and a additional lens (Nikkor 35mm f1.8). For an entry level DSLR camera the D3500 is excellent. I have been using this camera for a couple of days now and I’m very impressed with its image quality. It is missing some features such as time lapse (not even having the ability to connect an intervalometer) . I’m hoping a future update of the Snap bridge app (the only way to trigger the camera remotely via blue tooth) will include a intervalometer function. All in all I’m extremely happy with this camera.

The Nikon d3500 is simply the best dslr money can buy under £500.
If you are on the market for a new camera but are having a hard time choosing, I can guarantee the d3500 will tick every box and for the price you really cant get much better.
– Build Quality –
As soon as you pick up this camera the first thing you will realise is that it is so lightweight and compact. This makes it perfect for travelling as you can put it in your bag with you and its not hard to carry around wherever you go. But with the sacrifice of weight loss, does not mean that it is lacking in build quality either. The d3500 feels very comfortable to hold with the rubberised grip but feels also quite solid. The material is a hard plastic so dont get me wrong there are more rugged models out there, but for general use and wear like bumps, drops, scrapes and maybe a bit of rain none of that should be a problem.

Whether you are an amateur getting to grips or a photographer by trade this camera is really…

This camera takes amazing pictures. The focus mechanism is so fast it has to be experienced to be believed. This a a beautifully light camera making it a joy to carry around for a day’s shooting. Who needs to go the expense of full frame when the budget option is this good. The various shooting effects included are lovely and easy to get to know. Am loving the in camera colour swap available. An outstanding performer.
