After having a OnePlus 3T for 4 and 1/2 years and it worked extremely well until the last few months (Buttons stopped working and the battery drained heavily, but due to age I understand). I decided to go for another OnePlus. After my last phone lasted well over what I expected it to go, and the software was updated way more than I initially expected I was very impressed by OnePlus’s dedication to making everyone happy, even for older phones like my own.

Hopefully, with this phone, I can get the same quality and assurance. The same software is sleek and simple and packed with great extra helpful features even Google doesn’t ship (draw a V shape on the display for flashlight is so useful when in dark). The screen is FLUID, to say the least with the 90hz display. I can’t say it is noticeable all the time but animations feel slicker than ever, especially with the new gesture-type system instead of buttons on the bottom. Battery is great. I can sometimes forget to charge my phone one…

Great phone with the super quick charging, smooth scrolling, fast processing, in-screen fingerprinting, oled beauty of a screen.

Quick to set up and can see and feel the difference a ยฃ300 phone offers above the ยฃ200 range I normally go for.

Worth the extra cash in my humble opinion. And is it 5G enabled and will change automatically as required – just let the phone do its thing, itโ€™s smarter than we are!

After two months, I’m looking for a new phone as I missed the returns window on a phone full of bugs and battery that you can watch draining away before arriving in the office.

90hz screen and 5g on? Stream for 20min to lost 25% battery.

I don’t use either and just about survive a working day 7am to 7pm

Just got my new phone really excited its definitely quick but it isnt 5G dispite having 5G plastered all over the ad? My old phone was 5G with the same sim? How is that not false advertising

Phone is fast. Disabled 90Hz as I didn’t notice much of a difference with app use and seems to drain battery faster. I don’t stream that much, though when streaming the difference is noticeble.

The only downside is that on giffgaff I had to enter a special menu to enable 5G, and it needs to be set again with every reboot doing this:

    1) Open Dialer App.
    2) Type *#*#4636#*#*
    3) Tap on Phone information
    4) Select NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA.
    5) Open Network settings to see if it picks 5G.

After disabling couple of one plus software tweaks device is now like pure android as Google intended. Fabulous. The 12gb makes usage very quick no lagg. Internet is flying.

Streamed couple series and movies on 5G. Videos plays really good and clear. My previous mobiles were awful.

In sunlight. One plus CE is good and usable in sun light, great!!!

    UPDATE
other reviewer had sim card in wrong slot. 2nd sim slot is 4g only. Change to other sim ssot for 5G

I bought one of these for my 17 year old daughter who’s top of the line (last years model) Samsung died when she finally dropped it too many times. I did a bunch of research and decided to go with OnePlus, as it was under ยฃ300, had 5G and the camera seems to be pretty solid (my daughter does a lot with art and has an active social life, so the camera was important).

We liked it so much that when my other teenage daughter lost her phone we bought a second one. And now they both have matching phones (down to the ugly bumpered phone cases I also bought to make sure they don’t die from being dropped). When my third teenage daughter loses hers or her phone dies, we will get a OnePlus. And when my phone get an upgrade this December, I’m going to be getting their top of the line one.

Note we’re coming from high end Samsungs and Huawei’s…and these are just as good, even the camera is as good as my Huawei P30 Pro, if not better.

This phone was very complicated. I had Motorola (which was good) and I now moved to Samsung this was a much easier transition. Phone didn’t work on the screen lock and as a consequence it managed to complete a full factory reset without me even knowing losing everything!! this happened 3 days in and there I returned the phone. It surprised me that I had to do finger print recognition for everything else but clearly this isn’t as important!!!!!!

I had also purchased phone covers and screen protector ยฃ40 direct from oneNord they were not willing to refund and there customer support is very poor. It was clear that this would be probabablematic for all returns as finding out how to return was also complicated to. AVOID.

Pay more and go for Samsung.
