This is a review of the strawberry flavour; I’m a cyclist, and occasional gym user, and have a love-hate relationship with various powdered protein drinks. On the one hand, the good ones (for goodness shakes is still my go-to favourite) are tasty, filling, and seem to satisfy the post-ride hunger. The unpleasant ones (Osmo – which is painfully expensive, and tastes of chalky grit, despite apparently being responsible for Team Sky’s great successes, ZipVit, which is bland, and a challenge to dissolve) are more of a chore than a pleasure. This is relatively good. It is sweetened and probably has quite a lot of synthetic flavour, but then, if you’ve just ground out miles and miles of endurance excercise, some carbs is not so much of a bad thing (take note, foul tasting Osmo marketing people), and nor is some gustatory pleasure. The SiS protein dissolves easily in a shaker/bottle, and seems to sit easily on my stomach. It is a relatively sweet taste, in the pink-milk style, so won’t be…

Does the job, low in carbs, tastes great even after long period of use – would recommend to the everyday user

Delicious and packed with protein (72%). I’m using it as a meal replacement (i.e. low GL, Atkins style) liquid – it keeps me full for ages (the secret of low GL diets). Had for breakfast, and seriously not hungry at all at noon. I’m doing exercise too, so hope it will increase muscle bulk too 😉
The ingredients list is pretty good for the health-conscious too. No nasties apart from the sweetener (sucralose). Sucralose is apparently “very safe” but many people are worried about all artificial sweeteners, rightly or wrongly. I’m tempted to knock of a point (or half) for that, as really, there was no need to add sweetener. It would have been better to leave the sweetness to the end user (as there are many alternatives out there, or leave to consumer to choose none). It’s easy enough to add yourself with real sugar, fructose, xylitol or artificial sweeteners.
If you’re sensitive to caffeine, beware – this feels like a good shot of coffee to me, or a bar of dark chocolate (I normally…

Mixes very well. Happy with that. No lumps at all. Effortless. It’s just another protein shake so I suppose if I put the effort in it should work. There’s no magic formula anywhere.
