This is the 2nd product from ‘The Protein Works’ that I bought, sampled and am reviewing today. The other product was the one I had the highest hope for (Chocolate Fudge Fandango Loaded Legends) but they turned out to be an underwhelming, over-priced protein bar that really disappointed me. I also saw this new flavour of shake ‘Cherry Bakewell’ and I’m very-cherry-bomb, so I had to try it. I wasn’t really expected much from it, but I was able to get a smaller 500g bag at about 10% off, so I figured at worst I’d just end up with an average shake that I could mix into my regular vanilla or something. But I was really pleasantly really surprised.
To test it out this morning I mixed 150ml of no-sugar oat-milk and 150ml of hot water (I prefer warmer stuff on a colder morning) with a single scoop of protein powder. 101 calories per serving for 20g of decent protein with only 1.5g of carbs in the same serving isn’t bad in my book and will definitely be ordering this again. We’ve been using different brands and flavors of protein powders for years now and only came across this one more recently and decided to give it a go as we like to mix them up and alternate from month to month instead of sticking to the same one constantly. I’m so glad we did as this is one of the best we’ve tried yet and have been supplementing with protein powder successfully for a long time. have it on a rolling order from this seller on Amazon. Despite putting a lot of effort into maxing out on natural protein in our diet this makes a huge difference.
I like my protein powders quite sweet and don’t mind the additional sugar/sweeteners personally, my partner prefers as little sweetness as possible – so this is a great in between. It’s not sickly like some powder, not too bland or chalky like others, and the chocolate…

I bought this because of the reviews saying the flavour is really nice but to me this tastes vile. I mix it with water as I don’t drink milk and drinking this almost made me throw up. I get that some people like it but to me this just doesn’t taste right. I’ll try to finish the 2kg bag I bought and hopefully will get used to the taste but so far I’m disappointed.
EDIT after a week of use:
Initially I gave this product only 3/5 stars because of the taste. Turns out it’s an acquired taste and my water/powder ratio was wrong. Now it taste much better I could almost say I enjoy the taste. I think I’ll buy this again when it runs out and perhaps try different flavour.

So I bought this because I needed to rebuild myself after losing alot of muscle from cancer treatments. So I go the gym, within the 60mins, post workout, I have this supplement. The taste is great. The mixing isn’t always perfect. You’ll need to either have a blender or shake it yourself for 5-10 mins. Since using this, and eating healthy, I’ve noticed a increase in muscle mass. I feel stronger. The one negative thing is, the Mrs wants me to help more around the house! Would recommend this

I usually purchase Impact Whey from My Protein but tried this while on offer. The unflavoured tastes much the same (like watered down milk), blends easier in water – get a few small lumps on sides of a shaker, but nothing major. Noticed no digestion issues like other protein powders or bars.
It is low in calories and has moderate protein per serving, so easy to fit into macro and calorie goals.
In terms of flavours, also tried ‘Strawberries `n` Cream’ which is nice – fairly sweet but not sickly. I prefer unflavoured, you get more protein per serving and can change up the flavour when you want: flavour drops, chocolate powder, with bananas in a shake etc.
Packaging is decent, the re-seal on the pouch works well.
Overall, the quality is fairly good, and this regularly goes on offer – always paid less than £20 for 2kg.

This is honestly the best tasting protein powder I have ever tried with milk. It mixes so well and the texture is like silk. You will not be disappointed.
I have seen improvements in muscle mass since using this, so in terms of it doing what it should and what it was bought for, I have no complaints.
I paid £29 for 2kg which was a good deal at the time for the quality. If it drops again to the same price I wouldn snap this up again
All in all, there is no reason not to purchase this product if you’re looking for a great tasting protein powder, that mixes well and gives decent results. Great for the price. 5 stars.
