Got this for my holiday at the end of the month – although it was released a couple of years ago I’m very impressed (the dog might not be)

One of the best cameras I have ever owned! I have had it for about one year now and it still works as efficiently as when I first bought it.

I was looking for a camera that would meet all my requirements for point and shoot with quality pictures in bright and low light and exceed the quality of my high end cell phone.
It does all that and feels like quality manufacture in line with Breitling and Rolex watch standards. All the control buttons have a very reassuring silent but solid mechanical click.
The touch screen is great for quick touch action. It fits well in firm pocket – needed as it is reassuringly heavy construction.
Comparing price I feel there is nothing like it after I did some research and pondered for a couple of months. It is clear there is so much more from the cameral the the more professional will appreciate. Lots for me to learn. Thank you CANON.

Christmas present for my wife, as she had researched high-end compact cameras for a while and settled on the G7X Mk II.
It’s so easy to use. The presets are task based, and focus on real world scenarios, resulting in fantastic pictures whatever you’re trying to capture.
Colour reproduction and image quality are both fantastic, possibly better than the DSLR we own.
Battery life seems very good, well over 100 shots since Christmas day and the battery hasn’t needed charging yet!

Absolutely love this camera. So easy to use, very functional, great in low light. Awesome as a SLR replacement for trips where you have restricted luggage. Amazing photos and super fast speed!

I’ve had chance to test the camera out for a while now, so thought I would write a few comments.
Firstly, the camera ergonomics are good. The camera is solid and reassuringly weighty but not so much to become a burden. Not quite pocketable in a pair of jeans but easily in a jacket or small bag.
The controls and operation are all smooth and feel solid and high quality. The front dial for changing settings such as zoom, aperture or speed depending on mode is really easy to use. There are two modes, clicker and smooth. I prefer clicker mode as this gives good feedback when changes are made. If you change it over to smooth operation it becomes a bit vague and zooming seems to take a lot of turning from one end to the other. I can see this been great for video as there will be no noise and transitions will be much smoother. I just prefer the positive click giving me the confidence I’ve made a change. I don’t take a lot of video so the smoother mode isn’t a feature I really need but I’m…

Quality build (weighty and robust) and comfortable to hold. Picture quality is sensational (IMO), but what really impressed was the quality in almost darkness with no flash. Would consider myself a novice photographer, but this produces brilliant photographs straight out of the box (on auto setting). Definitely recommend this camera.

Amazing camera
Fantastic for holidays and day to day use
Small and compact but powerful for its size. It also takes lovely quality video.
I loved it on holiday as it was small and discreet rather than carrying a large slr and the flip up screen was great for when wanting whole family photos (to make sure no one was cropped out) and the battery life is fantastic
Used daily in Disneyland and only needed to charge it once over a 4 day holiday
