I’m a YouTuber. I “retired” 2 years ago in order to have a family and I sold all my filmmaking gear. Since then, I’ve had an urge to make stuff again and so I tried using my phone to do so and it was RUBBISH. It took way too long and the image quality was pretty naff.

I did not want to fork out thousands replacing my old gear because it’s just for fun… So I went for this and it was a remarkable upgrade from my phone and although the image quality isn’t quite what it used to be on my channel, I’m plenty happy with the image I get from this.

I will say though that I shoot on a tripod… Using this for moving around? Not so great.

I use this now as an overly expensive ยฃ700 Web camera because it’s single biggest benefit is being able to connect over USB for this purpose.

That added to the fact its very, very compact means its easy enough to fit into a bag. I had it in Rome with me whilst on holiday. The screen is unusable in day light – ridiculous given it has no viewfinder.

And my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra took better photos and videos in every possible way in direct comparison.

The photos from the APS-C sensor are middling at best and the lens range is not enough and out done by most high end smart phones.

The app to pull photos off the sd card made me want to stop living. Again another reason you’ll be just using your smartphone instead.

Would have sent it back undoubtedly but was too busy and ran out of time.
Will either sell on, or keep on hand as a luxury web camera – which it does actually do very well.

    Sony menus suck as usual.

I decided to go for a compact full frame camera (A7C) instead of this model.

So I got this as an A camera to my youtube setup. The first thing I noticed is that the 16mm lens is a little too close for a decent in front of the camera shot, so also then picked up a 10-18mm lens. I went all out and purchased a dgi gimbal. The camera kept over heating all the time to the point that I thought about returning it, however I found that there is a setting in the options to set the heat switch off limit to high. This is needed if you are using a tripod or gimbal. The camera switching off was really annoying!! Having said that the features are pretty good (as long as you have the correct lenses) otherwise just by a 6500

  7. Mike’s Unboxing, Reviews and How To

Coming from a long time panasonic G7 and G80 user there are some things that i was surprised that the zv e10 did worse than these older cheaper cameras.

The first thing that vloggers will not like is the rolling shutter effect, it is some of the worst i have seen, the jelly wobble effect is very noticeable even just casually walking along in my garden.
The stabilisation is also very poor, so if you are planning to use this to show off your treks and holiday walks, then forget it, the footage won’t be pleasant to watch or edit.

The main problem of this camera is the image processor, it just isn’t up to the job, even scrolling through the menus is slow and laggy, and this is the only to navigate the menus as the touch screen is not fully operational as a touch screen, it only supports tap to set focus areas, that is it.

For anyone studio based the HDMI output might be off putting, the 1080p doesn’t appear to be fully clean and will only display on the HDMI monitor OR THE SCREEN, not both…
